Ad Delay

Ad Delay adds a short moment of friction before you unblock.

When you try to stop blocking, Refocus shows a short ad. After the ad finishes, you can decide whether you still want to continue or return to focusing.

Ad Delay is free, customizable, and does not have the daily interruption limit applied to the free Duration option. You can also set a “Custom Message” and turn on “Interrupt Editing.”

Why Use Ad Delay?

It is easy to press “Stop Blocking” automatically, without thinking about whether you really need to. Ad Delay interrupts that habit. The short pause gives you time to reconsider—and you can add a personal message. Learn more

How to Enable Ad Delay

1. Create a new blocking session or edit an existing session.

2. Select Strict Mode.

3. Select Interruptions.

4. Choose Ad Delay.

5. Optionally, add a Custom Message.

6. Optionally, turn on Interrupt Editing.

7. Save the blocking session.
